Syros is located close to Piraeus port (the trip by ferry takes only 4 hours) and there is a connection by ferry with Rafina, Paros, Naxos, Tinos, Mykonos, Ios, Santorini, and other Cycladic islands. It is also connected with Athens by plane.

Ermoupolis is the capital of Syros and the cycladic state (thanks to the island position in the midle of the Cyclades cluster and close to Piraeus) and is considered to be one of the most beautiful towns of Greece. .
